Saatchi Sponsors "Nothing Is Impossible Producer's Award" at the Seventh Annual Martha's Vineyard African-American Film Festival

20 MAY 2009

In support of aspiring and established African-American filmmakers, global advertising network Saatchi & Saatchi is proud to announce its “Nothing Is Impossible Producer’s Award” as one of the competitions in the film festival.

This marks a new category in the 7th annual Run & Shoot Filmworks Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival (MVAAFF) which is being held August 5th-8th 2009.

Since its inception seven years ago, the MVAAFF has been a breeding ground for talent and a foot in the door for many aspiring filmmakers.

In a nod to the fact that most independent films have complex challenges and tiny resources, Saatchi & Saatchi’s SVP, Associate Director of Broadcast Production Sheldon Levy notes:

"All of the filmmakers in this competition embody a "Nothing Is Impossible" conviction, but the Producers in particular must be able to adapt constantly.  Winning, in the end is never an easy process - quite often the story of how a film got made is just as intriguing and engaging as the story on the screen.  This "Winning Ugly" spirit is at the core of our Award and we look forward to recognizing a Producer who has this same missionary zeal."

“We’re delighted to welcome Saatchi & Saatchi into the fold and commend them for their long-standing commitment to identifying, nurturing and spotlighting new creative talent,” added Floyd A.B. Rance III, Co-Founder of MVAAFF at Run & Shoot Filmworks, Inc.

Participants in the “Nothing Is Impossible Producer’s Award” must submit two DVDs and a short bio of how a production problem was overcome. The winner will receive a $3,500 cash prize.

They must also describe their production and final project strategies.  For film submission forms and festival information, please us at visit www.mvaaff.com or email us at mvfilmfestival@yahoo.com.
